Y Ffarmers is a free house which means we can buy our drink from whoever and wherever we like. Our choice of beers is guided by our customers (they know what they enjoy) and our underlying aim to keep our suppliers as local as possible.
We buy a lot of our beer from Wales’s oldest brewery – Felinfoel near Llanelli – which was the first brewery in the UK to can beer back in 1935. Or there may be a guest real ale on offer. Sometimes it’s Felinfoel’s Chwerw Gorau, at other times it will be a beer from one of the smaller Welsh breweries which make some really lovely ales – for example, Glaslyn from Porthmadog’s Purple Moose or Evan Evans.
There are also some very good bottled beer in the area, including Cambrian Heart Ale which is brewed at Neuadd Arms in Llanwrtyd Wells as part of the Prince of Wales’s Cambrian Mountains initiative.
Our wine is supplied by Fine Wines Direct in Cardiff - the only bonded warehouse in Wales. Our wine list ranges from a very quaffable, affordable Sauvignon Blanc from Chile to a smooth Pinot Noir from Allan Scott’s New Zealand Marlborough estate.
